Gilbert Custom Guitars is a hands-on luthier dedicated to transforming ordinary guitars into extraordinary instruments.

 Rob Gilbert has been obsessed with guitars since he was a kid, sitting on his bedroom floor working out the chords to his favorite songs.   Early on, he discovered that all guitars are not created equal — some are easier to play than others.

Inspired by this realization, he has never wavered in his pursuit of the most meticulous setup as he evolved as a player.  As his skills as a luthier grew, Rob began building guitars that look great, sound amazing, and play like a dream.  

Today, after more than 40 years honing his knowledge of materials, and techniques, Rob specializes in making your guitar play and sound its best. He takes pride in creating bespoke instruments that cater to your unique preferences and specifications.

 Whether it’s a custom build,  a simple setup, or an equipment upgrade, he enjoys collaborating with musicians of all abilities to bring their ideal instrument to life.
